In the USA it's $335 to register a trademark! And you probably want to get a lawyer to do the paperwork because it's very complicated. I have a client who uses legalzoom for his trademarks and corporations. Check it out. I don't know the rules for Canada.

Hi,

I hadn't realized that it is may be necessary to register for the GST when earnings surpass 30k/year.

In December of last year my earnings broke the 30k barrier. Does this mean that I need to register for the GST? All my revenues are derived from ad agencies such as Google Adsense and Fastclick. I also made a couple of direct ad sales to clients in the U.S. I'm pretty certain that I'm not required to collect GST on these, however am I still required to register?

I just wanted to get some feedback from those with some experience on this. Anyone here registered for the GST?
