Increase CTR for my programming articles site

I would like to increase my sites CTR. I tried few tips but the improvement is very little.

1) WebSite is vbknowledgebase.com/WebApp/Guest/Home/Home.aspx?PageCode=89&Desc=GridView-Custom-Paging-Using-ObjectDataSource
2) Daily visits are around 150-200 in weekdays (~100 on weekends)
3) CTR is roughly less than 1%

I have three ad sense ads in my site
1) Inline,
2) Horizontal bar at top,
3) Vertical bar at left

What I have tried to improve CTR1) Placed an image next to inline ad
2) Tried blending with the content
3) Changed the anchors color to synchronize with other internal links of my site
4) Tried the various font size for the advertisements

I feel i am doing something wrong. Please review and advise. Thanks in advance

Put float right on your sidebar ads so that they will get close to the content. Move the top adsense unit below the search bar. Get one or two horizontal ads centered within your content. Remember these are just tips. Im not guaranteeing anything but please let me know if it helps!

hi thanks for the inputs, i almost given up with adsense, and i am trying LakeQuincy ads now, since this is basically impression based. i am getting atleast few cents everyday with impressions. and started getting few clicks.

The quality fo advertisements are far away from adsense. You may review my site be visiting the following link(vbknowledgebase.com/WebApp/Guest/Home/Home.aspx?PageCode=99&Desc=Free-guestbook-HTML-by-visual-basic-source-code) so that i can rework few based on your expert comments. I am seriously looking for some help in reviewing my site interms of adsense.

Yes of my site CarPCGadgets.com site it is actually started getting clicks. And my Other site vbknowledgebase.com site the layout is still not fixed for all the major browsers. yesterday i have fixed for ie8. now the ie 6 and Firefox started displaying wrongly. so once everything is fine. I will keep a watch for one more week to conclude anything. I feel the CTR will be improved .

Today i almost fixed the floating issues with my site. But after watching the past one week, for some days i did not even get a single click on the advertisements. What i feel is my header is pulling the attraction than the advertisements.

Today i wil change the header color to a dull aluminum grey then let me update here if it helps to improve anything.

I'm glad is working the changes in your sites. In my experience I would make changes and leave it alone for a while to make sure is working or not. Some times is hard to tell if really working if you have a bad day or a good day. I think to have a "real" results you leave your changes for a little while ...a week or two weeks depending the amount of traffic you have in you sites

Yes true. not only google adsense react on new changes little later. but also the cache which is holding the older webpages taking some time to get cleared. i am getting few impressions on the top banner i have taken out few weeks before. so it is better to keep watch for few weeks as you saild. BTW i am now getting 500 visitors per day. unfortunately one or two clicks daily is still painful. lets see how the CTR improves over the period.

Because your site is a tech related site most people won't click on ads as they know they shouldn't, try to get cpm ads on your site, start affiliate marketing and try improving conversions.

Totally agreed. Your visitors are tech guys. Tech guys don't like ads. Try to sell them something useful (affiliate marketing).

I have moved on to the CPM based.
However i am running adsense in parrallel. But the interesting thing is the CPM network gets 30 clicks, but adsense i have not get a single click in the past 5 days.

It looks like users are used to adsense. may be the advertisements are not catchy in adsense.

What to be concluded now?
should i need to remove adsense from my site?
