how dyou monetize travel sites

how to monetize a travel site that I've just registered.
saw some travel sites that don't have ad network. how do they monetize it?

Flying/tickets booking
Sell banners links

First: Make sure you have good, useful content.
Second: Sign up for a couple of affiliate networks if you haven't already.
Commission Junction is a good one and clickbank is another.
On CJ, apply to programs that are travel-related (luggage, priceline, etc). Run those banners/ads and text links on your site on your site. Do the same with clickbank. Sign up to promote travel products (how to fly free, etc).
Put those ads on your site.
Third: Also sign up for adsense. Run adsense ads within and next to your good content, so that people will click.

Now, as long as you have a good amount of traffic, you should be good to go. If you don't make sure you check out my services in the Webmaster forum. I'm offering 5,000 real visitors for $5.99.

Thanks. I've actually just registered this domain yesterday its .asia site.

i somehow wonder about some travels sites that dont have google ads or ppc networks on it.

how bout them, how did the site earn?

Believe it or not, not everybody is out to make money on the Web. Some people create travel sites as a hobby; since it's their passion, they don't try to monetize it. Other travel sites are set up by governments. They don't feature ads because they are paid for with taxpayer money. Other travel sites might just be sponsored behind-the-scenes by some company--so they don't need ads.

I have a local travel site in bulgaria, just a blog in blogspot. It makes about 15% CTR and unfortuantely not must because our country advertisement budgets are small. I have only adsense units on my site

is it possible to contact hotel and beach resorts in the city and probably encourage them to be in my list of places to go in the city for a price?

we have lots of beach resorts here. and most probably one of the most visited city in asia because of beaches

some even migrate here.

I don't see why not. Hitting the streets sounds like a good idea to me. There's nothing like getting in touch with a real person... not some phantom on the other end of the Internet. Believe it or not, face-to-face contact probably would make advertisers work with you more readily. Let us know how it goes, turf.

Ive never had much like with affiliate programs like Expedia and hotel related programs.
My biggest earner on travel sites is, unfortunately, adsense.

I just run my travel site as a hobby, to learn about being a webmaster, and to share travel stories. I have a few ads and if they cover costs im more than happy

but i would rather not crowd it for my users (not that there are many of them yet)
