What is your opinion on Google Ads?

How effective do you feel Google ads and Facebook ads are for your business?

Adword is very effective.
But also costs a lot.
So adword is an easy way to get attention for new websites.

I don't know much about facebook ads as i haven't used them.

Google Adwords is effective. Just try to be as unique as you can in creating your website.Since it is costly, you need to make your content original and fresh so you could get a higher quality score.

it just depends on what your business is, but if it is local I would go with facebook and just promote locally and if it is not local adwords would be the best..

As with most of the posters here I also don't have any experience with facebook ads. Adwords is expensive but I've had some success with it. It just takes a little bit of time and patience to "get it right".

For newbies I would suggest advertising on smaller CPC and CPM websites. They're cheaper too.

Never tried Adwords but Facebook ads at around $30 per month (50.000 impressions a day) raised my sales at the shop by about 30%.

Facebook ads allow you to choose sex, age, country, so if you want target-marketing, it's flexible.

You could try both and see which model works best for you.

Check with your host as they sometimes throw in free $50 credits for both Adwords and facebook ads. (Powweb offered both).

... sorry forgot to mention that the price of around $30 per month is the case only if you would be bidding at the same rate I did for the impressions. Basically, the price could go up or down depending how much you are willing to pay for the ad run.

Google are the best contextual ads. They deliver ads according to the content of the website and in this way they have become very popular.

I don't think Facebook ads as effective as Google ads as most FB users are there not to buy stuff but to interact with friends. There are some products and services that might appeal to FB users.

Google AdSense is a free program that enables website publishers of all sizes to display relevant Google ads and earn.Based on my experiences in the past few months I can say that Google has nothing to worry about. Facebook Ads are not even close to being an Adwords killer.

I like them, the ads are usually similar to my niche so that a plus because it increases CTR, and they pay well for large sites.
