Sell keywords
I was just thinking about this,is there a way to monetize long tail keywords with little competition. There must be somebody who is willing to buy them.Anybody tried it?
What i wanted to ask is is there a place where i could do that?

Hi,
What would it mean to sell a keyword?
What would the implications be for the seller and for the buyer?
My Best,
Frank

What do you guys mean by selling a keyword?
By the context, I would assume you are trying to sell links on your site.

I think you'll have too much competition from people who have Micro Niche Finder or Market Samurai desktop softwares
I'm trying a variation on what you're asking - I'm registering the domains and putting 1 page websites online - then selling the "proven" keyword domain for $47 to $67
Too early to tell yet, as I only tried it a couple of hours ago - with a site ranking #11 on Google against 193 million competing web pages
If it works, and the site sells, I've got lots more to sell ranked #3 to #19 on Google

I think this may be related to domain selling am I right. I'm not too sure how that will work out if you ever try it, but I have never heard of it being a strong method so don't spend too much of your time testing it out.

Yes, it's basically selling a proven domain - saying here's a domain ranked #3 on Google for "XXXXX" search phrase
I've put one up for sale a few days ago - #11 on Google against over 190 millions competing pages
It's not sold yet, so you may be right about it not working - just that I hate to pass by on exact-match domains when I discover them, and know I can top rank them
I can't build sites as fast as I can find the domain names - maybe I'll start outsourcing

What's that got to do with anything?
I've sold keyword lists to web design companies, so that the sites they built for their clients top ranked in Google
Finding low competition search phrases that don't require many backlinks to get page #1 listings in Google search is a service
Using your argument you could ask, is it legal to sell maps, when the land doesn't belong to you

No, the original poster was talking about finding lists of keywords to build websites around
A good keyword is one that has good monthly search volume, and little competition - so you can top rank for the keyword on Google without having a lot of backlinks pointing to your web page that's targeting the keyword
If your site is built using a poor keyword list, then you're doomed to failure - no matter how hard you try, and how well you do everything else, like SEO and backlinking

Thats sounds interesting, I would be interested in buying some keywords for which can be easily ranked.. I think you will find plenty of clients if those keywords are really good!

Well that's 2 people interested so far
I'll see if anybody else is interested and maybe offer the service through the "services" section of this forum
You have to accept that the monthly search volume is going to be a maximum of 1,000 a month per search phrase
I personally use search phrases with as little as 200 per month search - otherwise it would be a very short keyword list!
This sort of list is often called "cherry picking" or "low-hanging fruit" - as the search phrases are so easy to rank for - they just need using in SEO'd web pages and a few good backlinks to the pages
Essentially these are search phrases that other website owners have not done a good job of search optimizing their pages for - meaning that as long as you do basic SEO, such as keyword at start of title, keyword in description metatag, keyword in opening paragraph, closing paragraph, and somewhere in the middle, then that's good enough to rank page #1 on Google - a few backlinks from other sites is also good, but sometimes your own site's internal backlinking is good enough on its own
