so I've stumbled into having a pr5 site

I have several sites on my personal domain, which so far has been totally non-commercial. But now I'm sitting on a pr5 site, and I am wondering if it would make any sense to implement some sort of revenue stream.

The site is a very vanilla "Kodak Lossless True Color Image Suite":

I know virtually nothing about this. In fact, I'm embarrassed to admit I don't even know how many hits a day it is getting. I have Whatcounter.com as a tracking service, and it reports 36,248 hits since April 2004. That averages a little over 15 hits a day, although traffic is probably higher now than back then. I doubt it is over 30 a day, though.

I'm thinking about some sort of targeted ads by Google, but I'm not rejecting other possibilities, whatever they may be. Should I even bother to research more? If so, what should I look into?

I just noticed my PNG Gallery page is pr5 also:

* http://r0k.us/graphics/pngLibrary.html

It probably approaches 100 hits a day.

My Interactive Color Wheel is only pr4, but it is my most popular page with 230-350 hits a day.

(I have an individual tracker on it, so I know accurate daily numbers. You can even click the eXtremeTracking logo at the bottom and see.)

The same question applies -- does it make sense to try to monetize these? I don't mind keeping them non-commercial, but if I can make some money without turning the pages into spam, why not?

You can run ads very easily through Adsense. You might actually make more money selling links on there. I'm sure people would want those.

I agree that placing Google Adsense would be a great idea, as well you should look at TextLinkAds which I've used and they pay pretty well.

With that little traffic I dont think adsense is a good option for your kodak site. Youre better off selling link spaces.

First thing I would do is get google analytics on the site to see where the traffic is coming from. Then you could possibly have some sort of an affiliate offer on the site to make money.
