Low Traffic? Forget About Ad Sense

If you are getting a hundred hits a day or less it would help you if I told you that you should stop wasting time trying to make money with ad sense. Trust me to know this. When I started blogging I though ad sense was the easiest ticket to riches. My blog would get a few hits a day, lets say a hundred or so. Getting on average three $0.06 click a day it would have taken me years to reach the minimum payout threshold.

Ad sense only works if you are getting huge amounts of highly targeted traffic to your site. The people who reap huge profits from this Google form of advertising are the ones who are getting a thousand page views or more.

A quick way to make easy money with your low traffic is to sign up for affiliate programs. There are some good ones that pay you up to $2 per sign up. Like the Friend Finder one. If you get 50 visitors and one of them signs up you make more money than you would have from Google ad sense in weeks.

I have nothing against this form of advertising. In fact I use it for my Free Article Directory. However, from experience I have come to find out it will only work if you have highly targeted traffic, preferably from the search engines.

It really depends on what kind of website you have. For my self, its practically impossible to monetize using affiliate programs. Flash gaming is a pretty large niche and my traffic has been steadily increasing, so I do have the potential of getting thousands of visitors a day. If you have a pretty tight niche, then yeah you probably won't get many UVs and you won't make much from AdSense.

I've been thinking of starting a second website to try affiliate marketing, but I'm having trouble finding a niche for which it would work.

It depends on niche which you selected. For example banking, loans, insurance, auto, mortgage, dieting niches pays the most up to 50$ per click. If you have chosen free templates or download ring tones that will not work.

First thing is to choose right niche and then bring the traffic by posting on forums, blogs, link exchange, etc.

One of my friend run’s a tech blog in which he gets 200 hits daily, I think he earns upto $5 daily through google ad sense, I think it also depend upon the keyword and content which you publish in your website.

I made a lot of money on one site which was about incoming new book and all money was made from Amazon until book was published. Than I was getting just few sales weekly and than just few monthly but ,on the other hand, income from adsense grow up. People stopped clicking on amazon ads and started to click adsense ads.

This, I can agree with.

4 websites of mine have generated zero dime from Adsense due to their low traffic.

That's completely not true.

It all depends upon your content - how keyword rich it is and how well your ads are positioned for a decent click-through. I was getting a few bucks a day for websites with just a few dozen daily visitors.

Yeah thats a good option. You will get $1 for every male sign up and $2 for every female sign up from that program and i think this is a good option to make money besides adsense.

Adsense doesn't pay you according to your traffic. Bidvertiser does it but adsense doesn't. I tried it and what i am saying you is experienced for more than 3 years. It depends on the keywords you have in your pages. Some keywords are very expensive and some others are cheap.

You can sell advertising space on your website if your traffic is good. No one will buy space if they don't see any good traffic stat's from you.

Work on getting a lot of traffic so it will be easier to sell advertising space.

Promote some affiliate programs. You can check out our affiliate marketing section for tips or advice with affiliate marketing.

There are also adsense alternatives out there that you could use instead of adsense. Adsense is not the only way to earn money off your website.

You can search google for "adsense alternatives" to see what you like.

I disagree it depends on your niche...Even though I get less then 100 hits a day on my site right now, I get clicks from 10 cents all the way up to $2(haven't seen higher yet).

You can always use an affiflaite and Adsense on the same page and see what works best. As other people have said, what works well on one website does not work for everyone else. There are many factors which affect the success of adverts, one of which is the content quality of your page and relevance of the ads to the content.

I have pretty low traffic, and so far, I haven't generated much money at all. I would love to know how I can achieve at least 500+ visitors a day

Yeah affiliate marketing a the finest way to earn lot of money. I know a person who earned about 5millions $ in a day using affiliate marketing. This is an amazing marketing, the best thing to get started your career. I know a lot of people who are engineers, Dr.s but doing affiliate marketing not because they are not a good Dr or engineer but they know that affiliate marketing gives them much more then their field job. Adsense is a pretty much good thing to earn but affiliate marketing is something much much more then adsense.

You know a guy who made $5 million. In a day. From affilliate marketing.

Thank you for sharing. Put it your sig. That would eliminate the chance anyone mistakenly takes anything you say seriously.

To make money with adsense you have to have a lot of traffic. I prefer affiliate marketing better.
