As a publisher or advertiser?

I've been using adbrite as an advertiser for a whopping 3 days now. LOL. I found a few places that were selling ad space very very very cheaply, but with some decent traffic to go with that. I've had a few clicks. Already worth more than I paid for the month. So, from an advertiser's point of view, who has been at it for a whole 3 days, I like it.

I just signed up to advertise and they are telling me it will be three days to review the ad I submitted, which is okay...

But then I figured I would sign up as an advertiser as well. Just don't see the benefit of using them instead of selling my adspace directly to the advertisers.

I was/am a publisher. I used them for ~5 months then sold the site I was using them on. As a publisher the payout is not near what AdSense is but the restrictions are almost none so I could use them on the site. I had them on an image hosting site that was doing 25k-45k visits and 75k to 115k pageviews per day.. I was getting 400-650 clicks a day and making around 25-40$ a day. I was happy, the site was profitable, and they pay but it's NET60 so i`m still getting paid Last check, coming soon.

I had a couple people buy ads from me but most were network ads. AdBrite statistics on sites are low. (All stats programs are different right? LOL!)

If you CAN use adsense use adsense but if not use adbrite.

I signed up with Adbrite, but their stats made my site look pathetic (more pathetic than it was even) so I quit.

Most people know this, and people pay per-click so that's no problem... also network ads pay decent if you can't use adsense

Angry CHEATS AND BAD SUPPORT :(

I hate them
The reason is the support.

Here is the Explanation:

i purchased a small Ad last month and they were supposed to start it within 3 days but they changed the ad date to Feb15.
ok, no prob .
But now when the ad started this is what i get

http://www.adbrite.com/mb/commerce/p...oduct_id=27027

Here is an Screenshot for proof that the ads are running.

I placed 4 ads totalling 25$ but 0 returns, and i mailed the support 3 times but no reply.

I tried to advertise on John Battelle's Searchblog. Put in my credit card info, wrote the ad, no response.

If he doesn't approve your ad or doesn't see it, it sits in 'que'.

I sometimes didn't notice ads for up to a week, and THEN they got approved... maybe thats it?

Lightbulb Accessible

The system is accessible even for smaller partners. Perfect score on that front!

I installed the ads in my blog's right column. I see several "network" ads that have little interest to the readers of my blog but it's better than nothing.

I haven't had an advertiser sign-up to be on my site specifically and the revenues are lower (way lower) than Google AdSense (which doesn't even have as good placement on my blog).

Perhaps Google's ad relevancy still wins over the AdBrite network.

Let's see how this plays out over time

I have been advertising with them for awhile. I think they are decent.

One of my best traffic generators for awhile though was blog ads back when I was getting ads for 75 a month on Search Engine Journal. Now that Loren has raised his prices it's not a good fit for my type of traffic, but would be awesome for you John! Since you get a BIG ad and multiple links you could have a forum ad as well as links to your directory and other stuff too.

I ran a few ads there and the average CPC worked out to $12.00+ with zero conversions. I recall the ad positioning being horrible...but just now when I went back to look I can't find Adbite on his site at all. Maybe he pulled it and that's why nothing happened with your ad.

I've found that if the site hosting your Adbrite ad isn't giving it first fold positioning the results tend to be somewhat poor. There are exceptions to that of course, just making a general statement.

GFC, yup. Looks like he is out of the Adbrite network.... Oh well. Kinda poopy deal, wasting my time signing up and going through all that for nothing.
