Lightbulb Will this work?

OK I've had this idea for a very long time now, and I think most of you must have thought about it once or twice before and maybe someone may have brought this matter up previously, but here goes:

--> based on current readings of SEO and Marketing forums and the general trend nowadays in making money on the Net ( feels like I'm writing a proposal already)

Stage 1:
--------
Find a market niche - for this scenario will use "Finance"

- create a few dozen websites, maybe not a few....ok let's say...to be on the realistic end ---- 12 websites each with their own domain names. The names of these domains also relate to the above "niche" market.

- populate these domains with articles, help files, all kinds of contends one can find about the "financial" markets for example; investments, credit repair, loans and grants, tips, how-to's, banking facilities, mortgages....you get the idea...

- all these sites are linked to one another. Let's say, Website A has articles that is relevant to website B and therefore links to that particular reference in website B. And this cross linkings go all around these 12 sites.

- maximise their keyword potentials for adsense and such. Join a few affilliate programs as and juggle them in between adsense and affilliate programs.

Stage 2:
--------
- marketing: basically market them to as many search engines as possible and refer them to as many sectors that targets the particular niche market, using all available mediums.

- so for the next 6-9 months, these 12 sites are pampered and babied to no end.
==========================
SO here comes the question -- Will it generate income ? (from the affilliates programs and adsense)

can you guys provide an analysis of this idea?

I'm very curious and wonder if I should give it a try....but to a different niche as my expertise lies in another direction.

I read a post somewhere about a guy complaning about who was ranked #1 under his targeted keyword pharse. Here is what he was complaining about. The #1 ranked site had a 12 page website and the guy complaining said the only reason he was there is because the owner of the ranked #1 site had 24 different blogs dicussing the targeted keyword phrase and linking to the #1 ranked site. So my answer to you would be Just have the one main website targeting your "niche" keyword phrase then blog about it using free blogs and save a few dollars.....Good luck

Creating a lot of sites in itself does nothing for you. Create hundreds or even thousands of pages and getting them indexed does not necessarily do anything for you.

www.webmaster-forum.net has 30,800 pages indexed, and only gets a couple hundred unique visitors a day.

Generally speaking, if you aren't putting out new and legitimately useful content you aren't going to get traffic. If you don't provide something of value, people have no reason to visit you.

- Interlinking your sites can be dangerous, make sure they are all seperate with no footprints.

- What John said times 2. If you can't make money with one site then your not likely going to do it with more than one.

My best advice for someone with a question like this is go do it. You need the experience. No one can tell you whether you are or are not going to make money, all you said was you are going to promote a bunch of sites. So what, big deal, lots of people do that the question is can you do it? Can you fail at it and do it again but better ? Are you willing to fail several times with several sites ?

Consider the cost of that failure the cost of your education in online business.
