More money? CPA.
Less money, but probably more times? CPC.

If you want to make more money in a reasonably quick time then CPA would be the first choice for you.

That would depend on your website, your visitors and ad placement. You can use both CPA and CPC. You can rotate the ads. Or simply place only CPC ads for three weeks then CPA ads for the next three weeks and compare your income.

Both of them. If you concentrate any of them, then you can earn more.

CPA is more work as you need to funnel users to signup/buy/etc before you are paid, whilst with CPC users just need to click the ads.

It all basically comes down to risk - with CPA you (the publisher) is taking all the risk of the advertisement - as if no-one signs up/makes a purchase/etc then you aren't paid a penny. You could be offering a lot of "advertising", but you are paid for results. This means the rewards can be much higher than with CPC, but there is generally notably more work involved.

With CPC you are splitting the risk with the advertiser - as your work is done as soon as the user clicks on the ad - it is up to the advertiser to then convert them into a sale/signup. With the risk shared, your income would likely be less, but there is also less work involved on your part.

With CPM (just for clarity) - all the risk lies with the advertiser, as you are paid for each time an ad is shown on your website - that's it. It is up to the advertiser to make users want to click on the ads and then convert them into sales/signups. As a result, the CPM rates on offer to publishers is often less than what they could get through CPC or CPA - but there is little to no work involved for the publisher. There are exceptions to this rule of course - as sometimes ads are shown just for branding purposes and not thereto be clicked on or directly converted - and as such they can go for higher rates, but tend to be offered only to high quality sites.

in CPC the earning depend upon the per click as the names suggest cost per click, where as in CPA the price is according to the action.

It depends on quite a number of factors like the revenue gained per acquisition or click, placements and conversion.

The easiest way is to try out both with a 1 month duration. And see which brings in the most money. I made an assumption here that in 1 month, your offer should have been viewed 3K times. 3K is an accurate way to judge a test (in my view).

Based on my experience, CPC gives quick results. I need some time to earn from CPA. But of course, there will be many factors include in this game. The best way is to try by yourself.

IT depends your blog niche and your marketing strategy.

It depends on your website, your niche, how your monetize the website with the ads, etc.

There are a lot of factors in play here. For example, you could just have ads and then cpc may work better, but if you review a product, then CPA may work better, etc.

I would go for CPA too. But you need to be more skilled with pre-selling though and you must be more conscious with your content.

@MASM50, in your signature you mention an ad network with up to $5 CPM. Can you advise me which one it is? I'll like to try it on a few of my sites.

There are so many ways to earn through CPC that you can use it in conjunction with any other income-generating method. For instance, simply signing up to be a publisher of Adfly is going to make you money per click while your actual website has opportunity for CPA profits.

Basically it depends on the nature of your users, meaning, do they tend to just click or also acquire things trough banners.

I guess the only way for you to really understand this is to try both, let's say for 2 weeks and 2 weeks and see which of them gave you more money.

If you've more potential visitors (visitors who are intended to buy something through your website or through the advertisements/links in your website), then CPA would be obviously a best option. And if you're not sure about the potentiality of the users, then go for CPC.
