Transferring to VB forum

I'm looking into the possibility of moving from PHPbb to VB as soon as possible..

The reasons behind this is security and from the comments I've heard VB is much better at dealing with SEO.

A few questions:

Branding Free Option
Does anyone pay for the Branding Free option - and if you don't is it just the link at the bottom of the forum that remains there?

Transfer of current forum
Is this easy? Does anyone know someone who can do this task? What cost would I be looking at?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Darren

I always pay for the branding free option. Looks unprofessional to have "Powered by vBulletin" all over the forum.

Transfer is easy. vB has a built in transfer utility.

people who care already know what forum software a community is running on... people who don't care don't worry about "powered by" links on sites.

Example: A webmaster forum where the visitors are web designers, coders, etc... they will already know what software you use. However, a site for travel where the visitor is anyone from a stay at home mom to a 65 year old VP of a dowel stick plant... they don't care what's powering the community or if it's listed at the bottom of the forums. They just want answers to their questions.

The only people that I think that really effects are people that want to start their own community after seeing yours (same topic or not) they may not know where to start until they click the powered by link.

That's exactly what I was going to say. Alot of people already recognize the basic file structure/layout of Vbulletin to begin with. No need to remove the "powered by" line unless it looks horrible in your integration, IMO.
