It's hard to say this because not everyone is successful with the most popular revenue program's. The money made depends on traffic, location and pure luck.

I am working with edomz.com and Bidvertiser for one year. They pay good but revenue sharing is not as good as google adsense. but both are well reliable network in terms of support and payment.

Now a days the "google adsense" also cut out the rates therefore you can try other program like chitika,adbrite and kontera.

teliad.com is a good source of income in which you can sell backlinks. The higher your site is page ranked the more money you earn. Payment is made thru PayPal.
The back link buyer is on a recurring annual agreement and you get paid monthly.
Naturally both sides can pull out at any time.
Its worth a look.
BTW a single one word integrated link on a sub page gets me 40 dollars a month for the past 2 years but the only one I have sold so far.

After adsense, i only try affiliates.
Others are waste of time.

Combine Adbrite with Clickbank affiliates. Want to make even more than what Adsense was making you? then setup an ad server where the ads do rotate from one company to another company. You may also sell ads directly on your site, you can make more money comparing to any ad company by doing this. Again, all these depends on what niche your site is in and how much traffic it gets.

Kontra has been my second best option but nowhere close to adsense. In many niches, affiliate programs would work better.

I am using infolinks services. They have improved their rates and I recommend it after adsense.

According to me Infolinks and Chitika is the best option after Adsense if you are an web publishers. Also depending upon the nature of the website you can try content locking or affiliate program also.

You need to find the best option for your website advertising through some experiments.

Just found this site called solvemedia.com, it can be a add on to your existing ads. Go to their site and look at the video, it seems smart. For those of you who don't have time to watch the video, it shows up ads in where people put captcha. The Captcha phrase basically is an ad.
