Got the product - what next?
I have developed the product, it is a "better mousetrap" sort of idea, something that webmasters would use, would pay for, and would make money out of.
I have NO IDEA about sales, though. Where can I find affiliates?
Better still, where can I find a business manager, or a sort of affiliate supervisor, so that I can move on, do what I do best, and leave this sort of thing to others who can probably do it better than me?

if you know people who are doing business online, ask around for who they use. They might be able to point you in the right direction. If all else fails, you could post it here http://www.v7n.com/marketplace/

The only people I know who do business online are the sort of people I love to have a beer with, but not the people who I want to do business with (or do business like) - bags of spam, banner ads, all the old stuff...
I will take a look at v7n, thanks for that.

well, the reason I suggested that is because, from my experience, a lot of people find assistants by asking around...I know a couple myself, but I don't know what your budget is

I was hoping to find people to work for commission, the product is low priced, I am hoping for a high turnover.
I prefer to pay on results, I often work that way, and if someone doesn't have enough faith in themselves to work on results, then why should I have faith in them?
Course, it might not work that way, and I might have to do it myself. But I often see business people wasting time trying to create a website, when they are better at selling widgets.

affiliates are commission based, definately, but a business manager....that's unlikely. You may want to consider building your own affiliate program and promoting it heavily to begin. Find internet marketers who have large customer dbs who may be willing to do a jv with you on a percentage of the sales basis. Look into people who are heavily into affiliate marketing and get ideas

A business manager who doesn't have the confidence that he can make money doesn't sound like very good business to me

That's a bit vague for me ! The handle is computergenius, not salesgenius <G>
How would I find those people? As I said, the sales side is not my speciality

I don't know many business managers that work only on commission, but I may be wrong. maybe we're talking about different things here.
well, I would suggest finding internet marketers that may be interested in marketing your products. people like cory rudl, marlon sanders, etc. these are bigger names, so you'll need to start smaller, but that gives you an idea. Basically anyone who is in your market that has a list. Contact them and go from there.

computergenius:
An outstanding place to look would be the Warrior Forum ( http://www.warriorforum.com/forum/default.asp). There're people there who do little besides broker JV deals. Hell; for that matter, you'll find a pooload of customers there as well. You'll wanna set up a WSO (Warrior Special Offer) in which you give a special deal to the Warrior Forum members. Make the people who buy the product your affiliates. (Well, don't MAKE them your affiliates; let purchasers know it's an option.)
I don't believe just *anyone* can waltz in there and set up a WSO; I think you hafta have posted 25 posts first; you'll need to check the rules. But your best bet is to get your fanny over there now and start reading in a hurry. Prolly 80% of those people are involved in one or more aspects of JV deals, so you wanna start making as many friends as you can.
Good luck; let us know how it goes! (And don't forget your friends here; you'll wanna make a V7NSO, too! :-)

This will be a tough one. I've been in Marketing for over 20 years now and many companies will do a pay for result type of campaign but you have to be able to show the full potential or put up some money up front as a retainer.
But when it comes down to it, $$$ is the biggest motivator. If I have 2 clients one based on commission and another that pays me hourly or per task. Who do you think I will work harder for?
You could always start with a simple shopping cart, amazon, ebay, marketplaces just to get started. If it's as good as you say, it will spread like crazy. Add a link to the product in all your emails, online posts, etc.
Good Luck!
