Do text ads convert well?

I have some experience using text ads for my campaigns. I should say that text ads do not convert that well. Hmm...I may be wrong in my assumption. Probably I went wrong in the way I created the ad myself. The results were not encouraging even when using the so called 'designed text ads'. I would like to hear what your experience is in this regard.

I don't use them but I click on them.

A catchy title and short but to the point description get's my attention to click on it. You only got so many letters to use.

I agree and disagree. I also like laconic ads but I would say that people are tired of catchy (or false) ads. Write plain, descriptive ads, no sweet words, and you will get a good result.

The age of catchy scammy flashy ads has gone. A nice clear catchy text would do better.

It depends on the Title of the ad, the description, targeting, and existing DEMAND for your products/services at a point of time when someone sees your ad.

Our experience has been very positive with Google Adwords for our own campaign as well as of client's campaign.

It depends on issues like where the ads appear on your content pages, the fonts used, colors employed as well as text effects. Naturally, if your text link ads are hidden among a ton of text links and other written materials, in a barely visible format, the conversions will not seem that bright. Any eye-catching styles would do the trick, like using bold, italics, bigger fonts, putting text links inside some frameworks, etc. will be helpful.

Text ads used convert well compared to banners. Images convert better now.

That's just what i've read when i first started. I will say that i have gotten over $1.50 on all text ad clicks i have ever gotten... but its bittersweet because they rarely got clicked so i removed them all together i guess it did not fit with my theme well.

If you try to creating the text ads , your ads quotation must be interactive and eye catching . so that more and more people will attract to your ads .
If you try to creating the banner ads , Then your banner should be simple and image must be very clear and hd quality.

On the sites I have, text ads have always got a better CTR than images. Might be the niches I'm in. I do make sure the text colours fit into my web page.

Mark.

Depends in what niche industry you're in. Compare a "spam" email's subject line to a text ad. Should be short, to the point, and appealing - appealing enough that it will be clicked.

And by the way, stevex is right that people don't like text ads because they know you're trying to interact with them - well he's 95% right. The other 5% (or more if you're really good) WILL click on a well written text ad.

With text ads you will get better ctr and good fill rate as well. You should keep both ads enabled.

Text ads should work well and depends on which advertising medium your using, I would say google adwords would work well for this. The efficiency of it is based on how you target the traffic, you should know which keywords and behaviours are themain target for your campaign, with this your ad should convert well.
