How many visitors do sites have
Hello All!
Could anybody please help me to find out how many visitors does "the average site" have?
I understand that there is no such thing as "the average site". So for any volume of traffic I would like to know which share of sites has such traffic.
Any ideas or references would be very appreciated.
Thanks,
Daniil

Im getting a bit confused about this unique "hits" issue and unique "visitors" issue ... I'll just post my last months stats to make it easier.
And to make this simple for me - "how many unique hits did I get on Jan 28th" would that be 2790 or 9907?

unique's would be your number of visitors, so it would be 2790, your smaller number

Thats not UNIQUE visitors but its simply a count of VISITS. If you visit a site 10 times in 1 day thats 1 unique visitor for that day and 10 visits. See the difference?
I wasnt going to do this but I think it needs to be doen to explain my point.

Click the above link. its a link to one of my websites live stats.
You see as of today (until midnight) we have had 4959 UNIQUE VISITORS this month and of those 4959 uniques we have had 10975 VISITS.

fish, i think you misread, unique's is your number of visitor's, not number of page views, thats what i was implying and he gave 2 numbers, i think he knew what i ment. maybe you should correct your english

In the image attached there was a number 2790 toward the bottom of the VISITS column. That is not meaning that there was 2790 unique ip's to visit the site that day but simply 2790 visits reguarless of unique ip or not.
In AWStats unique visitors is only defined at one spot and thats above the daily breakdown listed as a running total for the entire month.

Download the Alexa tool bar or go to the site directly. They offer rankings and related sites. I use Alexa to give me a general idea of the popularity of sites I visit.

In my more charitable moods, I believe Alexa can give you some useful information. But you need to understand its severe limitations (basically the stats are a crock). As long as you don't take it all too seriously it can have some uses.

Looks to me like you are getting 600 on average by looking at those stats for the first half of January.
I am getting about 500 unique visitors a day at the moment give or take about 50 each day.
