Adbrite's TOS says that you can show their ads next to any other ads you wish. However, the other ad networks may not like being placed on the same page as Adbrite.

That is true. The only way you can place any other ad service on the same pages with say Google is if the service is providing direct product sales that are not contextual. If you place other contextual ads on the same page you risk having your account banned. It is best to create a test page and place the ad you are going to place on the pages in question and contact Google or Yahoo! to get an answer directly from them about the ad and its placement. Then save this email in a safe place so that way you have something to come back to if it ever comes into question again down the road.

TLA takes the headache out of having to look for people to pay for text links on your site. They do all of the legwork and you get half the money. Sounds like a good deal to me, especially since they can get more than most people for a link.

If you have an older domain and do not want to take the trouble of marketing it then yes they offer a good program. The number of incoming links that your site has helps to determine its linking value and they may be able to get you more for your links then if you tried it on your own. So I agree with you on this and believe that if you want a hands free approach to advertising then it is not a bad deal. I checked their software and tried a few big domains to see what type of money they would bring in and I can say that it would a significant amount of money that would make me want to try it out.

Nobody is talking about Linkworth but I am selling links with them and they don't take that much commission. They also have a good list of sites where you can buy links.

Instead of using these programes I would advice you to look for buyers yourself in forums like DP and etc.
|
You can be sure that you earn much less than that %50 The links sold on foruma re too cheap!
I heard very good stories from DP members related to TLA. I will try to sell my links there ASAP.

I think 50% is a bit steep. Adbrite takes 30% which is much more fair,
but which you choose depends on your advertising market. I'm still
waiting to be approved by TLA, but Im going to run AdBrite side by side
and see which does best.

Here's the rundown:
I really think TLA is bad for the buyer. They have to pay a ridiculous price to feature their link on a low PR site. Even though TLA takes off 50%, the price they charge for links is so high, I still make more than selling them directly. For example, my PR4 website gets $10/mnth after the 50% off. People are selling links to their PR4 website for $5 for a lifetime link.

Is the $5 link a run of the blog link or a link on a single page? I suspect not.
How about the $10 / month link? I suspect it is run of the blog.
I don't know which is a better value, but you do need to compare apples to apples.

My time is worth more than the extra $10-$20 i 'may' earn from independent link sales. Considering I can set it, leave it, forget about it, and start focusing on content and other money making endeavors.
To each his own and it would probably be easier if I wasn't trying to juggle 2 dozen sites as well.

Oh, I agree. As a publisher, I'm willing to let TLA take 50%. I'm not going to spend time finding advertisers for those spots. If advertisers want to spend time finding sites, and offer me more than I get from TLA, that's fine with me!
