You're right, of course. I agree that there's not much need to be
afraid of competition. I do think sharing hot ideas in public forums
is a bit dangerous, since there ARE people out there who can and
will rip off those ideas.

Yeah, many popular websites give you whole page of similar websites and they don't afraid that they can loose visitors.

Anything you are interested in. You will be amazed, there are milions of people wishing somebody could put their hobby on the net so they enjoy it. Web hosting, SEO, affiliate sites, directory building,ebook selling(unless special topics) etc are almost choked.

My suggestion..if you want your site to attract a lot of visitors from day one, then make something totally different, totally unique, a concept that no one else thought of..e.g. milliondollarhomepage or something..I know it's not that easy..but still..

My suggestion... Try starting up a Vacation Rental Home, especially if you're living a decent space from town. Set up a website for it. And charge $5,000 US a week just to rent it. Sold out last year. The traffic is just enough to book us solid. Don't need much more.

Good old Fashion Brick and Mortar business merged with the advertising on the internet.

Of course my site doesn't bring you tons of traffic or pay per click revenue, but it's a good income.

Why rely on the internet doing all the work for you? Like another poster mentioned it's like looking for the holy grail.
