Lightbulb Help me out: How many percentages of the company?

Hello,

Just recently, someone contacted me to form a company, I'm in charge of the software area and he will be in charge of everything else, hardware, internet connectivity, servers etc.

He's offering 10% of the company's share to me, do you think that's enough, what's the right share amount do you think?

Thanks.

Umm... to me it seems to be less. The charge if software part is much as compared to any other part in the company you described. I don't know how much % your share should be, but I know it should be more than 10% and it should be far from 10%.

I wouldn't get my feet wet if you have no garantee. I'd ask for a minimum down till sales pick up. If you are only 2 and doing 50 % of the work it's not really logical to have just 10%...

I too think, they are saying right. Why don't you ask them to calculate the working value of each unit with you and then agree to the share of s/w unit.

It's very difficult to answer your question without having any other details, your share in the company should depend on, how much time, money or energy you are investing in the company.
