How to go about selling a website?

Ok, so I have an account with hostmonster that I host all my sites on. I registered all my domains through godaddy. Lets say I wanted to sell one of my sites. How would I go about transferring it to the buyer without disrupting any of my other sites?

Set up a new account with Godaddy -

> Then transfer the one domain name you want to sell into the new account.

>> Then give the new account information to the lucky buyer of your domain name.

>>> You can call Godaddy - they are very helpful on the phone.

"Fair value" is a very difficult concept to pin down. Most potential buyers and sellers don't agree on it which is why, very few websites change hands.

With that said, I just bought one (and have a blog posting on acquiring websites) and have bid on another. I've found them thru personal contacts. I only buy established sites in my industry (kids education).

In terms of resources, I looked at www.sedo.com but preferred: www.sitepoint.com . In fact, they had a great free guide to Buying Websites.

Remember u can also use an escrow service if u need a peace of mind. This way both people can make sure they get what they wanted before teh transaction is complete
