How much do you earn from Google Adsense?

I think that it would be great if you guys could post approximatively how much you earn a month and what type of website you have. I've created myself an adsense account yesterday and I'm still waiting for approval, so I'm pretty anxious and hearing some success stories would definitely help.

Doesn't revealing Adsense income violate the TOS? It used to--did that change?

Hi, I don't know that exactly. The thing is that the subject interests me hence I am awaiting approval for my adsense account and I have done some research and found this link: http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum89/5617-1-10.htm
It's not very helpful though because they only say how much they earned...nothing about what sort of site they own or anything.

sorry, but the people who earn good money from it aren't going to show you how they do it. it creates more competition for them. It would be stupid to do so.

People that have succeeded in life have this tendency to brag about it. Of course they won't take you by the hand and show you exactly what they did...

It isn't the case for google ads ... few got rich through adsense. But if people shared their experience, we can at least learn from their mistakes...find out what isn't worth our time.

I agree, people that earn good money form it will not mention how much they earn. they don't want to brag about it or don't want 1000's of competitors scraping their design and content thinking that they will earn the same if they do that.

Honestly, I'm finding Kontera works way better than Adsense.

I didn't realize that adsense earnings qualified as succeeding in life. Man people tend to give adsense a very overstated and supernatural importance. Everyone wants to make money, but thats what slanging and prostitution is for..

Yeah.... I modified my template so the Kontera ads only show on older blog posts. That way, my regular visitors don't see them but visitors who arrive at older posts from search engines or links do see them.

It's a compromise.

Basically, the way I see it: all PPC ads that work are intrusive in some way. When I visit other people's blogs, I happen to find Adsense placed where text has to flow around more than I dislike Kontera ads. I have no difficulty not mousing over links I don't give a hoot about! But I know there are others who hate the Kontera ads. So... I guess some preferences are individual.

The Kontera ads do make me more money.

Still, the main thing with your comment was actually not anything you said. The comment reminded me of some comments by several other people who complained to me about Kontera, but had no problem with Sponsored Ads. I have no particular problems with either. I run both. But for most blogs, more than 1 sponsored post in 3 to 4 tends to look like a blog about running Sponsored Ads. (A few blog categories can get away with a 1 in 2 ratios. Anyone who thinks they can run 100% sponsored ads and not seem sploggish is kidding themselves.)

Anyway, a looked at the blogs of a few of those (not you) complaining about the Kontera ads and couldn't help wondering if they'd decided to dislike the ads because pretty much 100% of their posts contained paid links -- which meant they couldn't run Kontera at all because the TOS of the various program would prohibited those ads in 99% of their posts? Would they change their mind if at least half their posts were not sponsored?

Ahh...well... I am a bit cynical. (And I <i>did</i> figure out how to keep them out of newer posts. So, I know it is possible to not like them even if they make you money.)

Although it is good to not over crowd your site with ads, you still have to take in mind that you have to make some money at the end of the day. What you have done is probably the best way of doing it.
