TLA Criteria

Hi,

Can anyone shed a little light on the criteria used by TLA's assessment of the viability of a web site?

I have submitted numerous sites all to be declined, yet I see TLA on other very similar sites to my own

One site is an active forum, 6 months old, PR3 main page, pushing 20K page views per month.

Another is a niche directory also, ~ 6 months old, PR3 main page, 3K uniques per month and 20K+ page views/month.

Any pointers gratefully received, thanks!

i think you might want to get pr5 and up in order for people to buy some links....

I have seen their links purchased on many, many PR4 and PR3 sites...

TLA's inventory of sites increased dramatically. On the other way people are not buying links as some 2 months ago. I'm loosing links on the last 2 months in sites were I have all the links purchased.

Some big websites like howstuffworks, etc have lots of individual pages selling links on lots of subjects so there is a small probability that you can sell links now.

Age of the site and PR are the most important factors I think for aproval..

PR4+ is the minimum that was accepted a year or so ago when I first signed up so you'll probably need to work on that PR. Once you're in, PR doesn't matter, so if it drops on a site it'll stay in TLA - that's why you'll see TLA site with < PR4.

What is the niche of your forum? I know that TLA has been broadening the type of sites they sell on.

The two forums I submitted were sports related. I am presently working to elevate the PR for the main page and have introduced a portal on one. Will see how that goes. Thanks again.

Meant to say ... alexa ranking is also part of the TLA criteria, might be worth paying some attention to (although I never have personally

They declined one of my sites when I submitted it months ago. It had a low PR then, and little traffic. But now the site is big.. it has a strong PR5, lots of inbound links, good alexa, good technorati rank, and thousands of unique visitors per day. Yet when I tried to submit it today it said it had already been submitted and declined, and that I don't need to submit it because they automatically check monthly and will notify me when it is eligible. Arggh! I have crappier sites of my own that have been approved, but not this one? I think their monthly checker is flawed because it surely could not have checked my site and still declined me.

Wow. I am impressed. I just sent them a message, and 10 min later they got back to me and fixed it...and now finally my site got in. So I must have been right...something wasn't working
