Just like with any other job, experience pays. It took me a couple years of trial and error to get the formula right. But after 8 years of web dev and domaining... I can launch a site and almost immediately generate revenue.
It's all about dedication and unwaivering confidence... having lots of resources helps too
I personally won't be content until I hit the $1k/day mark... while sipping mai-tai's on the beach... with my laptop under the protection of my cabana

Sweet. For me it's retiring and moving to Rome to eat pizza and gelato and try to get enough exercise to work off all the calories I'll be eating. 5 years.

I fully agree with this.
Over the past few years I have built up a large network of sites, some generating little revenue and growing and some generating a lot of revenue. When I come up with an idea, I can, like you, launch it and use my existing network to nudge it in the direction I want it to be and it has worked this way so far.
I started out 5 years ago, designing websites for next to nothing. I used the money I earned and the skills I developed to create a new site that I SLAVED over for three years. This particular site/product earns my residual income now so that I can concentrate on my design business.
Making $500 a month starting with nothing is not that easy. BUT, when you get there, you may not realise it, but the information, skills and networking you have put all the effort into becomes second nature to you. Then you can do it again and again in much less time.
I feel that making over $5000 a month is when you start to think bigger. Thats when I learned the most valuable lesson. To make big money, you have to spend big money (In most cases).

Or it's better to spend money than to spend time.

my best month on eBay ever was $4400 gross averaging like $10-20/order and probably a 50% margin. That was a lot of trips to the post office I tell you what.....

I make right on 700 dollars a month right now using Google Adsense alone. The site that brings in 95% of this revenue is my Mustang website. I also top that 700 dollars off with private sponsors and link sales to bring me at about 900 dollars a month right now.

Interesting that Adsense does well for you there. It's crap on my dad's antique car photo blog. I was pretty surprised that the ads pay so little actually. Probably have to switch to YPN...

Last month was my best month ever, making $1170 with a site with pure SE traffic and 10 months old. I am happy
And none of that traffic came from Google, not 1 visitor. ALL MSN TRAFFIC

McDonalds sucks. I worked there when I was 16 for 4 weeks.
2 weeks to try it + 2 weeks notice.

Beats Caldors. When iw as in college I worked there for 8 days. 7 days of training and then when they told me I'd be on register the 8th day I never came back.

And did you just not come back without telling them...Those kind of people have always cracked me up that just stop going to a job. It happened a lot when I was in College working in different places. Suddenly someone would just stop showing up and you would never hear from them.
I always thought it was a Serial Killer with a taste for retail workers but apparently you have debunked my theory

I told them when they called me up the second day I didn't show. They asked, "Why aren't you at work? This is unacceptable."
I said, "I quit."
"You can't just quit. You ahve to give notice."
"Did you give me notice that you were switching me from cameras to register?"
etc. etc. Anyway, they lied to me. They had hired me to work in the camera section and during the interview I specifically told them I wouldn't be a cashier. I meant it.
And yes, I think they did go out of business. I hear that customer satisfaction took a big hit after I left.

I have to laugh when a company says that.
I gave my current company 4 weeks notice and the boss says 4 weeks isnt enough notice. Sure hold on and I'll put my move to another country on hold just so you can make your QTR numbers

LOL, I would have probably stayed if they would have put me on the register. They made me flip burgers and clean the garbage in the driveway... that was all they'd let me do. Doesn't seem like you'd want the same person doing both jobs though.
