Can't have Adsense on signup pages

Somebody just informed me that it was against Google's TOS to have adsense anywhere on your signup pages. I believe I violated this rule several times in the past without even knowing it. Is there are reason for this rule?

AFAIK, if you are get ban in google adsense, you cannot sign-up again for another account. Google can track your name as well as your address if you use it again in signing-up another account.
