Review: Collective Core

So, I just launched the site for my Web Design and Development Firm I am starting up. I wanted to get ya'lls thoughts. It is 100% custom from the color scheme to the logo. I put a lot of work into it, so feedback, positive or negative, is very much appreciated.

I really like your design - can't fault the logo or the general design. Just a couple of minor gripes - the menu items at the top of the page look a bit weird when you hover over them and the hover patch doesn't line up with the strip of colours at the top of the page.

Also the three large boxes you have are only clickable on the 'More Info' button. Why not make the whole box clickable? (I'm not saying get rid of the more info button, just make the whole thing clickable). We do a similar thing on our website at digital-crocus.com.

One final thing - why not do a favicon? I'm looking at a Firefox window with 14 tabs open and yours stands out because it's the only one that doesn't have a favicon!

Thanks for the kind words. To be honest, I didn't even think about a favicon. I have added one now. Also, will take your advise on the entire box being clickable. That would probably help draw traffic to my services page.

Favicons are really just a finishing touch that you may as well have, especially if you're actually selling web design.

Having the entire boxes clickable will definitely aid navigation - we did usability tests on exactly this - how people respond to our site with three main boxes in the middle and found that people were just clicking anywhere in the box on the assumption that it would all be a link. It wasn't, but we soon made sure it was

Meta description and meta keywords are both missing from the header.

multi colored strip in the header is a distraction, and looks unprofessional

portfolio page needs a discliamer that your clients were posted with their permission. You do not want people to think your using their name without permission. Because you should not reveal who your clients are - it breaks their confidence in you with keeping their details private.

You are the first one to say anything about the multi colored bar. Can you elaborate on why it is a distraction, and why it looks unprofessional, thanks! Most people love it, that is why I ask.
