Review: cookielessdomain.com/portfolio/

Hey all.

Please just take a look at http://www.cookielessdomain.com/portfolio/ and let me know what you think.

It is just a "fun" coding experiment including a slider, lot's of CSS3 properties and an animated 1480px header... done with jQuery.

Thanks...

Ok, I'm not sure why but when I visited the website and clicked on the "right" arrow to see the next image / information the whole website reloaded and it removed the top image. Speaking of the top image it's almost 1/2 the top of the fold if not more?

Something is just too weird when I try to navigate. Seams to be opening new tabs and just over all within 15 sec's of visiting the site it's acting goofing. Bad experience and most would totally leave.. not me.. still clicking

It's confusing to have arrows and prev next so close - each does something different so it's causing me to revisit the site again.. this is my 3rd visit.. commenting as I give this a try as I go though it.. ugh!

Soon as I clicked on the arrow I can't go back.. sorry just too confusing.

Maybe I'm missing something? I understand it's just for fun and if I could read your mind and see what you're up too maybe I'd get it but at the moment I'm afraid I do not.

The header animation starts after about 12 seconds, the slider about 10 seconds.

The NEXT and PREV buttons work as they should.

Maybe you can make a screenshot and I can take a look.
I have tested the "site" with several browsers, but maybe you could tell me which browser you are using. Maybe your browser is not loading the JS correctly.

The site was jumping all over in IE8 here. Not sure is that was what you wanted but found it annoying.

Ya ya... u again

The header is animated, I said so. In my IE8 nothing is jumping, except the header, that is animated... I said so, and the header does what I say. Jumping.

If you find it annoying, yeah, maybe then you find it annoying.

I also said it was done just for fun... the slider does what it should do...
sliding some images (it's the coin-slider).

Hmm.. well I'm using Chrome.

Yes, I waiting about 10 sec's for the top animation. Nobody in the world is going to wait that long before clicking something. Most hardly wait that long for a website to load.

For FUN - Ok sure why not

For real website - no way.

Different - yes.

Slow or having to wait, not these days. Google is all able indexing and sites that load faster are now getting more attention.

Playing with the web/website is one thing. Playing with money is another

If one is just practicing and tweaking talents very good practice indeed!!

* I just believe if someone is asking for a review or our thoughts. I just think it's best to be honest and to the point.

I did look at it in other browsers.

Transition between screenshots is not as smooth as it could be.

It doesn't work or degrade well if scripting is turned off.

To be honest... it was not my intention that it degrades.

It was done for fun and nothing else

It shows some of the stuff I did and I am doing... jQuery driven, so it needs JavaScript anyway
