Review: deepdiscussions.net
http://deepdiscussions.net/
Deep Discussions is a forum community that encourages our users to engage in more interesting and meaningful discussion on various subjects such as current events, hot topics and even debate amongst each other on political issues, religion, philosophy, science, entertainment and much more.
Not only am I looking on reviews relating to overall appearance, but I would like to get some SEO tips and advice since I'm not very experienced when it comes to all of that. All feedback is greatly appreciated and if you post negative feedback, please make sure to also post constructive criticism and specific ways that I can improve my site.

Hello. I like your name. Its catchy. Looks well laid out and easy to read. You score big points for that. More categories of course as your forum grows.
Coding wise you could fix a few issues. Your meta description is a bit long. Most search engines will only show the first 150 characters including spaces. Missing H1 heading. Should have one. Some of your images are missing alt tags. (description).
Your website resides at both the "naked" domain and the www URL. Combining the 2 using a 301 direct will also help SEO. Good luck with it. If I was not so busy I would get into a "deep discussion"

Hey I really like the design, its clean and looks nice. I wouldn't worry to much about the alt tags. A lot of people argue that their no longer important.

Thanks for the feedback GlobeGenius, I appreciate it.
I'll definitely try to shorten my meta description a bit as well as give the proper alt tags to my images because even if they don't matter, it's better to be safe than sorry... Plus it's not that hard to just add them really quickly. As for the 301 direct, how do I go about doing that? Could you possibly link me to a tutorial?

Hello. This webmaster link should get you started in the right direction. There is more linking info also. Good luck with it. Its only hard until you do it once.

Hello. That just tells Google which URL you preferred to have crawled. You can also stipulate country target for your website. You need access to your control panel to do a 301 direct. It combines your 2 URL for better SEO. Try contacting your hosting company if you do not have access. You can always use whoisdomain to find your host and dns. (domain name servers)

I've chosen www.domain.com as my preferred domain and have done a 301 redirect in my .htaccess file from non-www to www, that's all I need, correct?

Thanks MeHost, I appreciate the positive feedback.
Content has started flowing and the boards are slowly starting to fill up.

site looks fine as far as the look goes...content is what makes a forum go...It'll take time for your members to build such content. It's all natural and Google loves that. Keep people coming and interested.

Yeah, I am running a contest in hopes of getting some quick content and I am doing what I can daily to post new, fresh content to the forum. But like you said, I think I have the appearance aspect of the forum down already, so all I am focusing on now is the content. Thanks for the feedback sundancerz!

How would you suggest I change it?
So far I feel like the site is being indexed fairly well despite my lack of SEO knowledge.
I want to learn more and more, I just need recommendations.

What do you think it should be?
Or, better question, how should a title be formatted?
Should it just be the name or the site, or what?

I am mainly looking for that to be either "deep discussion", "deep discussion", "intelligent discussion" or "meaningful discussion".
