I think your header is just great!

The design is simple, but the images are interesting (in a good way!) and I love your fonts and color choices - and, as Owen said, it works really well with your theme. IMHO, I don't think you should change a thing.

Sometimes simple is best. Have you tried looking for inspiration over at istockphoto?

It's generally ok, but I had problems reading your logo. I guess thats due to the low quality? I don't like a few things about the way you have designed the site, nothing against the design itself.

the top/bottom banner is one big image. the quality is rather low and it's obvious that it is low... . Split it into multiple smaller images and make sure that the corners are clean.
Try using GIF or PNG instead of JPG. You have a banner with an extremely limited color scheme. Make use of that! a 5 or 8 color palette might even be enough and give you sharp edges...
You have a lot of pages you can page through (what a sentence) at the bottom. Provide this at the top too... especially as you always have to scroll to the bottom otherwise and that sucks...
