Review: bandally.com

Hey guys,

Well was not sure where to post this so I gussed I should put it here.

Well I am starting a site, BandAlly.Com

It will be a site where bands can upload music and fans can watch that music etc.

The press release is bandally.com/press.htm

The basic idea is, its free to use, people can upload their own music and allow fans to watch it, Like a YouTube of the bands if you will.

What do people think of the basic idea? (or should I stop this idea right now?)

While it is definitely a very competitive field right now, it could be done, with a lot of hard work. Do you have enough connections to get the word out there to a few bands?

The key will be getting bands talking about (and linking) to the site.

Are there liability risks with this type of site in terms of copyright? Will you have to carefully monitor copyright infringements? Or, is this something that a disclaimer will cover?

I would also seriously consider any possible security issues for your server.

Currently, The landing page the sever is on, Will not be the server we will be using. We just used normal hosting to host the landing page and info etc and thanks for the tips

For the Flash : it was a very simple flash without any visual effect. Maybe the purpose of the flash was simply playing the music.

For the HTML / content : you'll need some design for your HTML, it was too empty. Do you think you is better that you make the logo same height with the top banner ?

when I visit bandally.com all I can see it's an annoying flash and a title stating: "Comming soon"...

The music on your site is ok, but design could be worked out...........

few people know how to embed flash objects validly into their webpages, but it can be done.
