Review: ComputerBuddy.org

Please review my site! It is currently under construction and i want to know what everyone thinks. i have added a directory and a forum. im still playing around with both.

the idea of the site is a computer help community providing users with Tutorials, scripts, software, articles, a forum and directory, also webmaster tools. Its a huge project and im running into problems but it is moving along.

So tell me what you think about it so far. I know already that there are broken links.

I am not a web-designer -- but I can be considered someone who can judge usability - basic asthetics.....My settings are at 1024x768 and I have to slide right to see the entire page --- which is aggravating.
The "Run spyware or adware removers at least once a week to keep your computer clean. Spyware and Adware can be just as dangerous as Viruses. " needs a larger space, ashe word Viruses..is swallowed by the webspace below it.
The "Computer Buddy" black and white image looks unfriendly and not very buddy-ish....
Is the plan to eventually add links to the left side 1-2-3 options so I can quickly get whisked away to my computer buddy friendly locations???

eventually that will be the plan.

the quick tips are a php script that randomly loads a new tip every time the page refreshes. so formatting them is a little difficult. i will work on it though

You may want to change the text color for the menu when you change the background
Didn't find the tutorials, maybe missed them.

It looks just like a normal directory to me... can't see a forum or anything else anywhere.

It looks clean and tidy although I would have paid the extra to remove the footer links/or get a template without any.

Site preview doesn't appear to be working and each listing doesn't appear to have a detail page.

Also you have not activated "friendly URLs"
/index.php?c=91 is not as good as /computing.php

Site looks great... I like the simple design... Very clean and attractive for me... I guess you should add more content on your index... And just like what mortgages said about the url.. You should consider that also... Good luck then...

I actually like it quite a lot, its very clean, and your colour choices are good. The one thing that really bothered me was the point of having that large blue area below your menu? It just takes up unnecessary space - I would consider putting your banner ad in there so that the categories for your content can be moved up. I also didn't really think that your logo went with the layout for some reason.

Apart from that everything looks good, and I loved your hover colours for the menu.

Nice theme, but the header area is kind of dead looking. I'd add a little more graphics to the header, but thats just my opinion.

overall I give it a 5/10

The top black stripe is too depressing.

There is a spelling error in the window title.

But the design is clean clear and easy to read.

Except for the fact that the "buddy" (top-left image) doesn't seem that happy, I like the design, nice job.
