The site looks great. Clean and simple. Environmental sites dont need to be flashy.

I found the website very soothing when I opened it, I felt there was a story that was going to be told, that there was care and concern. I think it is a great looking site and I commend you for your efforts to save our planet there are very few out there that care.
With that said here are a fews of things I noticed; on your home page you have a link to 14 Quick Ways which for me brought me a 404 Not Found. In "How to take action" you appear to have an earlier document 13 Quick Way that does link to the document.
As a personal preference I like links without underline but I think links throughout a site should be consistent in both color and underlining as it bring a small cohesiveness to the site.
You should consider using the same Mission Environment in the Forum that you have on the homepage.
This might be from my lack of knowledge with forums but I always find it frustrating that when you go to a forum that linked from a website the only way to get back to the website is to use your back button or reload the homepage address.
Give some thought to linking Mission Environment and the jpg of the windmills link back to your home page.
May I ask why you are linking to the same story 4 times on your home page under Top Story and Current headlines "Cities offer incentives to go green"?
Hope I'm not coming across too critical I do really like the site very much.
Nick

Blog and forum templates updated, and dead links fixed. Think I am ready to advertise the site aggressively?

for submitting your site to search engines and directories:
The below site has 50 search engines and directories
http://freewebsubmission.com/
To manually submit (best method) click on the name and follow directions. Keep a log of when you submit (check before submitting to see if you are already listed) and submit to those unlisted. Do not resubmit more often than once a month. Remember, it takes time to get listed unless you pay for immediate listing (better to wait, if you can). When listed in these 50, do another 50. The 100 best search engines and directories is about all that needs to be done.
hope this helps

Thanks navyfalcon for all the info. I am going to blog about some stuff very soon.
I have just updated all of my articles and even wrote one more. Can you please proof-read them? You can find them all at www.missionenvironment.com/howtakeaction.html

I will have to email you for any sites I suggest as a moderator gave me a stern warning about listing any sites on the forum. (note: they were not my site)
You have a display problem. I used firefox with both 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768 to check. (about your forum)You display ok in 1024 x 768, it is centered etc. but in 800 x 600 the top banner is larger than the area below. The banner is larger than the area below, (800 x 600) but the area below the banner fits the screen. May want to check. There is a site that will check your site display in all the popular browsers and give you the displays in thumbnails. Sorry I can't give you the address, (reasons stated above). This helps in checking. Also may want to check your description and keywords. You can check what similar sites use, that may help some with page rank.
hope this helps

I believe that you would have to work more on the graphical aspect. To watch template already made you can sure help.
Good work!

I agree with Steven, the adsense draws my attention, but in a distracting way. I like the article picture and the blue space of the header. More white space might help emphasize your locations.

I really enjoyed the information and the site design is very mellow. However I did notice that when I clicked on the forum link, the forum seems to be right aligned and I am not sure as though that is what you were looking for? I am using firefox so I am not sure as to whether or not it may be my browser. I just wanted to let you know as I was scoping out this site.
I did find the information which had been posted to be extremely useful. I think that the forum will get a lot of use from animal activists and energy savers. I am not going to say that it looks 90's-ish, but I do have to agree with some of the other comments about how just a couple of simple touch-ups where text was not a standard font and the border boxes were not just boxes would help spruce it up visually. The graphics are very pleasant and for the animal lovers extremely cute. I was wondering though, how difficult would it be to have a photo match in some aspect to the article?
What is meant by that comment is instead of the picture of the monkey peeking from the tree and your full article being about energy saving tips, what about something like a photo to match the intro to the article? Just a thought.
To your future success,
Jason Conway

Beautiful! The blue background on the turbines is pleasant. The monkey pic green is a good complement. The copywriting is bold, commanding and at least on my screen above the fold. The 15 ways headline is very WIIFM (what's in it for me), nice.
Possibly make the top menu bigger, I didn't see those choices right off.

As mentioned above, there are a few broswer capatability problems but I think I fixed the most prevalent ones. I am still workin on fixing any W3C issues left over.
Any other advice? I have a PR3 on the homepage and PR2 with blog, but I just got many high PR links pointing to my blog. Hopefully that will boost the entire site's PR and I will get more visitors.

I enjoy the way the header looks. That caught my eye..good job.
Your placement of the picture in the main story was great, I clicked there before I went anywhere else in the site. Taking a closer look, your main headlines to your site all lead out of your site. Is this a good idea? I would work on content to swap for those that are inclusive more to your site keep your visitor longer. As well this is what the W3C guys had to say....
Sorry, I am unable to validate this document because on line 105 it contained one or more bytes that I cannot interpret as utf-8 (in other words, the bytes found are not valid values in the specified Character Encoding). Please check both the content of the file and the character encoding indication.
The error was: utf8 "\x96" does not map to Unicode
Now I am not to overlly bright when it comes to coding, but I would think you have an error somewhere round line 105..
Let me know if this helps..
