I have completely redone this website with the help of people on this forum. I think it is now close to, if not already complete. I would now like some critical reviews from everyone here. Anything and everything pertaining to this site and how to improve it is welcome.

Kind of drab looking. It has the feel of a website from the early 90's, just tables and background colors.

I like the design a lot, but kind of agree with Name Junky. Try to make things less square looking (even a few rounded corners would help a lot) and also use brighter colours! You don't want your users to get bored, so liven up the menu and footer etc...

Below "Top story" and "about us" the left text border has to be aligned with the title left border.

For the rest, the site is perfect.

I agree, but I am stuck on how to make the site look more modern. Do you have any examples of sites that have modern designs that I might be able to get ideas from?

I actually like it, if I were to describe it in one word it would have to be "pleasant". Nothing special, nothing spectacular about it, but I like it.

1) If anyone thinks the site looks 90s-ish, can you please give me examples of more modern websites to use as a guide

2) I want to make the Featured Article box more noticible and stand out more. Any ideas on how to do this?

Nice work... Cute monkey... lol

Anyway, I guess it would look good if you would make it 2 columns? 1 big column and a small sidebar on the right or left side where you can put some categories or something... I think it would look modern in that way..

The Website looks pretty professional and I will not suggest anything more to improve it unless you are money oriented for Ads. If your idea is not money oriented stop reading - otherwise read on.

In the center the website has in total three column. I would ideally keep it in total two columns by collapsing the two columns of "Top Stories" and "Current Headlines" bringing them on on the top of other and inserting another Adsense in between.

Just one curiousity - does environment topic bring you a lot of money.

I am not really looking to make profit from this site. This is the only site I own which I am doing solely out of concern for the future. I only inserted adsense to provide revenue to keep it up and running, since I believe all of my sites should be separately independent and self-reliant. As of now, I have not make one penny on this website through adsense, but I have not advertised it much at all yet.

http://www.missionenvironment.com/blog/

I need some help with the blog part. After reading comments that I should make my blog and forum congruent with my site, I started working on that. For the blog, I am just adding the top part of my index page to the blog. I have added the top logo, the menu, and the top image. For some reason, there is a space between the menu and the top image and I cannot get rid of it. Anyone see the problem?

Very green but it could use more content and the adsense is a bit distracting in a manor but this is MHO.
