yep - for students around the world to get together in a safe environment and chat about anything they feel like (some rules though)

well if i were running a site for students, then i'd go as far as promoting at local colleges, schools, or universities...most of them are always open to linking or even merging ya know...students are always looking for a place to share and talk about student stuff...personally, my own local college i attend has a very stupid forum service...i mean totally ridiculous...
anyway, it's just an idea....aim at the students ya know...

If you email colleges and universities, all they will do is think it is spam. You'll have to go right to the source... the students.

they will i'm sure...a student forum isn't necessarily the #1 concern for them but i'm sure they'll reply...also, have you thought of simply emailing the student directory of these schools you've contacted?

At our college, everyone gets a planner, that has club advertisements, and college information. But I think it is made by a certain graphic designer, not a set student directory company.

the student directory is just a list of all the students there. my college has a user@college email address that sends a mass email to the students...you could ask the dean or whomever if you can send an email or something..just thoughts...but you should definitely focus on the student community...
if i knew how, i'd upgrade the forum service at my college...it sucks...

If you want to keep people coming to your site, your going to have to give them a reason to come back. Like, at our school, many people visit CollegeHumor.com, becuase they update all the time.
Your site is a typical portal right now... right down to the colors. You have to make it stand out somehow!
