Lightbulb Review: www.starruby.in

Hi,
Kindly review my website:

StarRuby.in Main Page

The Star Ruby Shop (Complete shopping cart for selling ruby gemstones & jewellery)

I would appreciate any suggestions on speed, design, functionality, etc.

Thanks & Regards,
Harshil Zaveri

You have the same info on at least four pages, ie the photo with the text. The header does not look luxurious enough for this site. And you could do with a red folded satin wallpaper for the outer background. Just make it look expensive and luxurious after all, it is a ruby you are selling, not a bit of cheap tack.

Thanks for your time.

The outer background image is a good idea. Will definately work on it. Any suggestions on how to make the header look rich?

I like your website, but when I scrolled down toward the menu, my thoughts worsened.

What I would suggest you do is show the menu with images. Images say thousands more things than just text. You can keep the menu framing as it is right now, but I would add images that represent the menu choice itself, (you can use Photoshop or Macromedia Fireworks). You will not only avoid making your customer wasting time by having to read all the menu fields, but you will also advertise your website with your own content.

That big image of the ring in the top of the page doesn't make me think you have a shop. It rather makes me think this is just a page of one product! I would suggest you buy some advertising pictures from websites like this one: http://www.acclaimimages.com/search_...vertising.html

My last line is: make it look like a reliable and affirming shop, not just like a badger website!

Thanks for your suggestions. Can you please tell me which menu your are talking about?

Yes, I think I will put different images on different pages which will make it look more lively.

I mean that menu "Star Rubies Explained", "Famous Star Rubies" etc.

Also, I forgot to tell you: since you wish to have people buy rubies from your website, I would create a big image to put in place of that bad looking image of a ruby. I would place an advertising image and turn it into a link that goes straight to the shopping area... You can create an image with a figure of a woman wearing jewels, and add an advertising slogan, beside something like an arrow that people have to click on to access the shopping area.
