Layout looks good.

One thing I would suggest is perhaps centering the body rather than pushed to the left margin. But that's just a personal preference on my part.

Also, perhaps the navigation would be better up higher on the page. People surfing at 800x600 won't see it unless they scroll down.

Here's my 2 cents:

The layout is good which will make people find things easier and quicker.

A few things that could be improved on the design (i.e. the physical look of the site) are:

1) Center the site. It looks better if it's centered.

2) The top part of the site has a lot of unused space.
There is dull grey band at the top, then a thinner blue one, a large blue one that contains the red banner. This is useless space. Consider shrinking it down. It adds nothing to the site.

3) The red banner is too large. I see the Power to Paint text along with the slogan in the corner of this large banner. Again . . .wasted space. I would also suggest you get a strong logo.

4) The pictures work well I like them.

5) The menu is at the bottom of the page (when first loaded at a 1024 x 800 res.) and is just barely above the fold.

The menu needs to be more visible and needs to be much much higher up. All that padding at the top has pushed the menu too far down.

6) I would consider a different color then the dark gray for the displays of videos. The pictures of the videos themselves look great.

7) You could have icons or graphics for 'download' or 'buy DVD' just to break things up a bit.

8 ) The text should be a little bit padded. Reading from one end to the other is quite long so I would shrink the width of that blurb after the videos.

9) A footer that looked separate from the body could be added.

Anyway, I hope that helps. Keep tinkering with it . . . you'll get it.

i agee with Skinny... there too much space on the top and one the right side.
better center your template. if your site is something about painting maybe add some color to your site to attract more visitors.

Ya there's alot of negative space. Also you might be able to get it to fit in a 1024x768 res without a scroll if you snugged everything up a little. Which looks like there's plenty of space to do.

Also try and match the footer with the header. Usually using similar colors or style.

I think it's a nice layout.

Couple of suggestions.

I think it would be a nice touch to add some balance and interest to the rest of the page by adding a matching blue background to the footer section.

I would shrink the header size by 30-40%.

There is a minor typo in the title - INstruction.

I think the site has too many spaces and the header image is too large, and the rest are all fine, the layout is good and quite simple.

The header is far too large, it pushes your important content below the fold. I would reduce the height to about 25% of what it is now, and make it span 100% width. I would also give your text some padding so that it isn't squashed right against the side of your blog.

Get rid of the black background, it's far too distracting.

Try and get a custom logo done, brand yourself, as you are effectively your own brand!

Way to much deadspace at the top of the page. I understand that the space is necessary in the rest of the site to showcase videos and pics, but maybe put some graphics or something next to your logo.
Centering the layout would be great too. In the ol widescreen, you have a ton of dead space on the right side ( my res is at 1200 so I am a little out there I know)
Is there a way, (humbly speaking here) that your landing page for purchasing the videos could reflect more of the original site? Once you click on a video, the purchase page has nothing that ties it to the original site, I would worry about jumping from your site to the other url without something to reassure the shopper that you are still with them ( specially since you redirect out of the site for purchasing)
and your actual purchase page has some way bitty looking logos for the visa and mastercard logo ( definately build your customers trust with you if they are plunking a CC number with you)

I did also notice too, that when I went to fill out the order form, I place Alaska as the state to deliver to, with my zip code from Washington state. And then the other way around and the shipping cost did not change. Perhaps changing the wording on the button to "order now" instead of "calculate shipping"?

Hope this helps..
