Adding personality

When you write for the web, do you inject a little of your own personality into what you publish or do you try to keep your articles more impersonal?

Please explain why.

If you are your business, I believe you should write as natural as you speak.....

People like to do business with people more that they do companies....the personal touch....

Speaking naturally do not mean being unprofessional....a little lightness in the writing is more comfortable to read....

(the exception might be serious subjects)

Well most of my writing has been blogging so as I have learned how to write it has been on a very personal platform. I think that if your writing has a personal touch rather than a text book feel it is much easier to stay interested. That is just my thoughts though.

I agree. As they've said, being natural is much more applicable in writing because readers are comfortable in reading it.

There is flow of info around the web & the content of any article should be interesting in order to get audience. The "impersonal" way of writing is like kind of anonymous in my idea it need to be more interactive.

I prefer to insert a bit of my personality in there in order to make the writing a bit more interesting.

It depends. There are some clients who do not like personal opinions, but they love a personal voice and style. I only inject my personality in blog posts unless the client asks for something different. A personal style is conversational, and personality posts include tid bits about you that would include words you like to use and possibly info about yourself.
