This is a great question. It really depends on your experience. I have found the more I do article writing the more I can write on subjects in no time at all. If you are writing for someone else make sure you keep all the content unique and fresh and use different variations on the same keywords.

It depends on how much research I have to put into the subject first. 5 to 6 is a good day

I prefer to write a maximum of 3-4 articles per day. This provides me with sufficient time to devote to the topic(s). The sad part is that numerous writers churn out in excess of 20 articles per day, which are worthless in quality and are only used for gathering link juice.

I think the quantity of article not important.
Just 1 article, but have serveral visistor better than many with no or low visits
The quantity is better than quality

Hi,

I think this question is very subjective and depends on so many things. If you're not looking for high quality articles and the word count is low (under 500 or so), I think writing up to and over 15 is very possible. This is only if no research is required and they're not looking for quality articles or extensive keyword research.

However, if these are to be unique, informative, engaging, etc. articles, probably 4-5 a day is realistic. Keep in mind that if you're doing SEO articles, you need time to do the keyword research, as well as time to research the topic you're writing about.

If people want intelligent articles that people will actually want to read and that will optimize correctly, they can't expect writers to churn out 50 articles per day...I run into this problem a lot as a freelance writer. Your boss might want quality - but most like he or she also wants quantity. I don't believe you can have both!

Shannon

Well, i think the answer depends on the capability of each person.

However, we need to make sure that our priority is quality and not quantity only.

As everyone else has said, it depends on what you are writing.

I need to be writing for someone different, LOL. Yes, I can churn out 20 or so in a day that are on topic, somewhat interesting (most of them ... some topics are difficult to make interesting, LOL), definitely grammatically correct, not copied. They get the job done, and I usually earn high marks for them.

I really don't like to write that kind of work though.

I can also work on a top-quality article of at least 1000-2000 words and spend closer to two days on it, even within a niche that I know well and don't need to research. These are the ones I submit for contests and publication, and do quite well with (in terms of ratings). I just don't have many sources to pay for such articles.

I write one per week and it takes 2-3 hours to write ~ 400 words article. I think need to state questions relating to topic of article, find answers and then all this write as one article...

It's getting much more difficult to impress Google with content since the Panda updates started. The best content writers can produce about 3,000 words of quality content per week. Hack writers can write much more than that, but the writing is not valuable and can actually hurt a website's search engine rankings.

SEO copywriting

For me, creating a fresh single article with 500 words takes 2-3 hours. I have little experience in writing articles for a single domain.

I started my career as content writer. I used to write 4 to 6 article in a day. If the topic was research intensive then not more than 2.

CopyBlogger

That's a great article from CopyBlogger. Good writing takes an enormous amount of time because it does require research on a topic. What takes 3 minutes to read can take hours upon hours to write!
