Whilst we can in no way compare the unethical practices used by some SEO organisations to the magnitude of wrong doing and illegal activity Murdochís empire is currently being accused of, it does of course throw up the question of ethics for anyone who puts pen to paper for a living and the lengths some will go to for winning content.

Whether you choose to have articles written for you by a professional article marketing team, or you prefer to compose your own content, there are a few areas of the process often considered unethical by other industry professionals. Join me as we take a look through such unethical practices and....

I didn't like the article. The Murdoch lead in had little to do with the rest of the article.

My quick tips for this post are the following:

1. Do your research. Look for facts and data where you can build your content.
2. Write your content and have fun doing it.

Ethics in writing

Ethics will always outlast deceit in advertising. Making outrageous claims about what your or your clients' products or services can do will lead to failure. Sooner or later you're going to be found out, and there will be a backlash against you. Check out what happens to unethical internet marketers by googling "<marketer's name or product> scam".

One area of online writing and ethics that the article didn't go into is when a writer is awarded a project, and goes and subcontracts the work to a lesser-quality writer. The aim, of course, is to make a "skim"--what's left between what the original writer is being paid and what they're paying the lesser writer.

I am 100% against this practice. When someone hires you to write something, they are hiring your expertise, your unique world-view, and your writing skill. Offloading the work to another writer is wrong.

Wait! There really is such as thing as a "perfect content?" I must have missed the memo on this...

Quote:
Ethically produced content could be the key to a successful SEO campaign, whilst unethical content brimming with irrelevant keywords, copied paragraphs of text and false claims will be its downfall.
Actually, a quality content is the key to a successful SEO campaign. You can have an ethically produced content but poorly SEOed. A quality content consists both; good writing + properly SEOed.

Do lots of research over the topic to have a fair idea about the topic. Then just write the content in a systematic way.
