yes you can say more, but long articles can be bit boring for the readers, its better to express in short and straight words.

The minumum requirement for word length is typically 400-450 words.

is there an advantage of making it a bit longer? I say that but actaully I find once I know I have to write 400 words it tends to slide into around 500 anyway.

Sometimes writing shorter and keeping it punchy is harder than writing longer.

Interesting. You guys here define necessary article sizes in word quantity, and what about symbols-without-spaces? This way of counting necessary textsize is extremely popular in Eastern Europe and Russia, and I wonder why the situation here is quite different - just my curiosity, you know

For my site, I shoot for anywhere from 500 words - 1,500 words.

I think the more words and images an article has, the more you give the search engines to index.

I was just looking at Traffic Travis and note that one of the 'SEO negative factors' in their assessment of a page, is having less than 425 words.

Is this a good benchmark as a minimum numbe rof words bearing in mind the many article directories are insisting on that sort of minimum word count too?

Content writing

I think content writing is very good job because itís improve your thinking power and it also give you lotís of knowledge. But there is one important thing in content writing your content should be fresh and meaning full content and must be knowledgeable. Spelling and grammar must be correct for good content writing.

yes if one is capable in writing and good in that then no prob. in writing long but, its better to be on safe side, because most of the readers prefer short and useful things more over long articles are time consuming.

I completely agree with it. You can write anywhere from 500 to any count and adding images to the post makes it like butter on bread...

I mean to say it will help more exposure to the post...

A 300-500 word article should suffice. It's the ideal article length. I usually write a 500-word article.

My SEO clients usually ask for articles that are between 400-500 words. For SEO purposes I think this seems to be the standard length because article directories usually do not articles below 400 words.

For a blog post, I guess the ideal length depends on what you want to talk about. I have see (and written) posts that are barely 200-300 words and then some that are a whopping 1000 words or even more.

If the post is long, you might want to break it up with plenty of sub-headings and bullet points to create easily scannable content because of the limited attention span of readers.

I try to aim at 500 words per article. It depends on what you are writing though, but that is common sense. Some random bantering can be any size, where a review of a delicate piece of hardware is usually bigger in size and can stretch multiple pages.

Size? Well, as for the number of words, you can write at a minimum of 300 words - 500 words.

First of all content should be unique and related to topic. Length depends on which topic you are writing, but it should not be too long also that readers get bore, content should be of medium length around 500-600 words.

Here's what four SEO blogs do just to give you an idea. Here are their average words per post:
SEOmoz 832.3
SEO For Google 349.7
Top Rank Blogs 742.5
Daily SEO Blog 450.8
The overall average of the four sites combined are an average of 593.83 words per post.
Basically, your post should be whatever the number of words you need to create a satisfying post for your readers.
