Be careful about your content

I have noticed that after writing some very long articles, 3000 words + and publishing them on my site FIRST, but then publishing them on article directories.

People steal the content from article directories, and then outrank me...

Don't publish you quality content on other sites, Google will not honor your seniority even if you are the author.

We have to make sure then that the article directories are really reputable or credible.

I dont think so
If google crawls it before for your site, then even some one else is copying your content - still your content will be treated as original and lie high in serp

I know this for a fact, 100% sure

Whoever has mor page rank or publishes next gets on top.

A. If you publish your article in 2011 and someone publishes the same article in 2012 they will outrank you.

B. If a site has a larger page rank thatn you, they will outrank you.

C. If the other site has 10 links to YOUR original content and you have 1, again they will outrank you.

I have seen this dozens of times, so now I keep my original content for myself, and then again, it gets stolen and I get outranked for my own work all the time!

You need to protect your website's content. You can use this code : http://www.hypergurl.com/norightclick.html

This code will help you in disabling right click. This web page also have code for disabling copy and paste.

Hi Rahul, yes this would work but still, one can still save your text as image and then OCR it to fetch it...nobody is safe 100%!

I write all new content for article directories when it comes to article marketing, but I try to write my best posts on my website. Even though it's a lot of work, writing new content for every article directory is a good practice. Just make sure all your links are there when people republish your work. I had an instance where after publishing a press release, a site republished the press release but took out all the links point back to my site. That's only happened once that I know of but that's still annoying.

This happens all the time Chapstick, take a snippet of your text article, the check with "my text" and see where your article show up, you will see it's often copied with no link back ;(

I'm pretty much sure that Google can tell who created the original by the date it was posted/indexed anyways.

Some stuff that you can do but it is a pain in the butt. Check out this link.

I must agree with you, i am facing the same problem. People steal my content from article directory sites and resend them with their own links.

The idea is you post the content on your site first, then make sure Google has it indexed, and only then submit to article sites. But to be honest with the recent updates, article directories have lost most of their value, in terms of link juice. if your goal is syndication then that still has some value. As far as the disable right click disable code etc...those are really really easy to get around but I suppose something is better than nothing.

Wow, that's wierd. I found a Plagarist, and it is I

I post classified ads all over and sometimes I have just copied text out of my website.
But in the classified ads there is always a backlink or an email pointing back to my website.

So I'm guessing this has no bearing on my actual site, right?

This is interesting, I never thought that people who copied your contents would overtake you in the ranking. Isn't it crawled first by google and indexed to your site?

I'm thinking that one of the reasons why a newer post of an old content ranking higher than the original post is the result of the freshness factor. Is it really that big of a deal? I mean, people like it when they see fresh content, and so does Google. But is this a bigger deal than the date when the content was posted or when the original was indexed?

Google algorithm is not hundred percent spot on...with millions of new pages to index it may well be that that a site that is changing daily is indexed before the article that is put on before...

to be safe i leave content like that 30 days before putting it elsewhere...
