How to Turn Bland Text into Sparkling Online Content

This is a good find.

Let me guess Ö

Youíre smart. You know your stuff. And you have a sparkle in your eyes when you talk about your favorite subject.

But your writing doesnít sound like you. At all.

No matter how hard you try, you struggle to find the right words.

You swap one word for another ó now your sentence sounds lame. You try yet another word. Thatís even worse.

Youíre not a boring old fogie, so why do dull sentences sneak into your content?

You know your writing should be more conversational. But how?

It may seem difficult to write content thatís engaging and seductive. But it really doesnít need to be so hard.

Excellent read - thank you!

I'm old school, where we were taught to not use "we" or "you", and I even used something called a "we we checker" at one time to make sure I wasn't doing this. As social media became the norm things relaxed everywhere on the web and I started moving away from this type of thinking, but it was hard! Still is sometimes.

I really appreciated this - I may tack it on my wall :
Introduce surprising metaphors … such as scrumptious blog posts that your readers gobble up.

Great article. I like the tip suggesting one should write to their perfect reader. Having a persona in mind helps focus the conversation. Imagining a real person on the other end keeps the language from becoming unnatural.
