Make sure you read the blog post and not just post your answer's.

Quote:
don't care who you are; everyone makes mistakes in writing copy. Even the professionals who have to look at the copy with a jaundiced eye and tweak things. This is why we have drafts: because perfection seldom happens the first time around.

While the list of common copywriting mistakes could probably fill a small eBook, some are more common than most like the four below:

Why do you need an engineer for copywriting mistakes?

Nice article! I think most of writers make a mistake on Headlines, they tend to have SO ORIGINAL headlines making it not effective for readers. In addition, most of writers accompany these headlines with so much content that can even choke most of the readers.

My suggestion, make it real. Be real and talk real.
Cheers!

I am aware to those tips.
But sometimes I make those mistakes as well.

Especially point 3. Now I always remind myself so I don't make the same mistake again.

I don't believe some of the wacky replies this thread has received. If this is the state of Copy Writing online these days, I feel like Shakespeare!

I think people just guessing and going for post count in this thread. I have a friend I go to if I need a professional article written. It's not cheap but it's good content.

Copywriting has been changed in 2014 completely. The four things that you have mentioned in your blog are very common. But a professional copywriter focus on its natural audience, what they are looking for or what they want.

I agree with that 4th point..small pointers attract the readers as they could get the information of the complete article by just reading those pointers and hence it develops interest in reading the whole article whereas the readers can bounce back by seeing the long paragraphs.

Very useful post. thanks for the link.

The key secret of blogging is the "content". The word "content" means effective and useful content. Beginners start the journey and most of them become null because of the writing mistakes.

Search engines love quality contents with updates..
Effective and useful content will give quality backlinks with time..

The final advice is pretty useful. However, it's important to be balanced when your base your actions on your own opinions. You do not represent your audience.

Some marketers do that mistake and then go 'why didn't they like this post, it seemed pretty interesting and informative'

Good copywriting focuses on the customer who has the "What's in it for me?" mentality. And, that's what a lot of copywriters forget when talking to the potential customer. They're so busy trying to sell something, they forget the customer only sees it from the buyer's/buying perspective. Putting yourself in their shoes will make the copywriting process so much easier.

Interesting. I agree with a lot of points, especially the one about originality. When I read some products ads and take the point of view of potential buyer, I got irritated with too much originality just for the originality's sake. Could anyone give examples of bad (poor selling products initially) copys, but after the copy is being changed, the sales have improved? As a starting copywriter, I would appreciate your advice.

I think I don't make any of those four mistakes. There was a time when I couldn't get the headlines right, but I think I have overcome that issue now. As for the other three, I have always avoided those.

I am a bookworm, and when I got into copyrighting, I had done so after research maybe this is why.

Some writers produce content for search engines, so it is not user friendly. That is a big mistake.
